logo in the corner of my video

Hi,
I've seen that many channels have their own "program logo" in one corner of their videos like you know it from tv programs. I wondered how I can do this. I have Adobe Premiere, but I realized I need a better pc to work with it properly.

Can I do this with iMovie? I know about picture in picture, but I think it's not transparent? And I don't like to add colorful letters via text. Should look simple and classy. I believe many of you have much experience.

IF you are talking about the avatar at the corners of the videos, you can do that straight with Youtube. You go into settings, then you would go InVideo Prgramming, then you enable the Feature and then you can just position it and such.

Ive done it with iMovie before, and now do it with Final Cut - I like to do as much editing as possible locally so I dont have to rely on any of the YouTube editing tools!

This is how I tend to do it:

- Create the logo in a paint package (I use Pixelmator). Your logo needs to be on a transparent background - I tend to save as PNG so it keeps the transparency.
- Add it to the video in iMovie as a PIP effect - since it has a transparent background you will be able to see the video around it.
- Move it to the desired location in the corner.
- If you want teh viewer to see through the logo a little - like a watermark, set the transparency of the image down - I tend to go to aroundthe 35-40% mark most of the time. This makes teh logo easily viewable, but doesnt distract the viewer at the same time.
- Viola!!

The drawback with iMovie is you can only use one PIP effect on the timeline at any timepoint - I moved to Final Cut so I can add as many PIP effects etc as I like - much more flexible!
Nevertheless, yes it can be done in iMovie by following the above.

Best of luck.

Thank you very much. Haven't thought about reducing the transpareny in photoshop as png. Thought I have to do it in my video software. :)
Already tried it and it's working! :)
