Livestreaming Twitch vs Livestreaming YouTube?

Note to readers: Despite the conversation going on in the replies, the original question of the thread stands.

Alright, so, I've tried streaming on YouTube. I dunno what exactly was wrong, but in the preview player it was GLITCHY. If I put a slate in, the video went all spazzy with green lines and a bunch of other glitches. It's insane!

I've only tried streaming on Twitch once - from my laptop - which didn't work. A 2.5GHz dual core can't cut it. :(

So, I'm turning to you YTTalkers to decide what I stream on.

The main reason I'd like streaming on YouTube is because it's more convenient in some ways (e.g. people don't need a Twitch account for commenting) and I can put in an ad break (e.g. "Alright, we're gonna take a break here really quick. Stay tuned!" *insert ad*) and earn a little extra monetization money.

Though, my last stream was an hour long, and it didn't get reviewed so I never got an option to insert an ad.

Thanks YTTalkers! :D

live streaming is getting old, it has too many problems its way ahead of its time. Theres no real reason to make a live stream its the same youtube small channels vs popular people channels. another reason you don't need to live stream is because we have talkative app like skype, facebook, chat boxes etc. lastly the data you spend on streaming will affect your internet bill, like 4 hours non-stop can lead to a $10 increase and so forth.

I have to disagree it's getting old, and ahead of it's time. Really all it's doing is recording and uploading, at the same time. The talkative apps don't really satisfy things Livestreaming does. Indeed you can talk with your subscribers, but really, that's harder to do (Everyone has to have an account for whatever program) than Livestreaming.

Last I checked - this is for Charter in the U.S. - there's no bill increase for internet usage. It's just $$ for whatever limit (bandwidth, upload speed, etc.)

Really, I think Livestreaming shouldn't be overdone (though there are those that do overdo it without valid reasoning)
For example, a 100 sub celebration is good cause for a Livestream.

you getting the wrong message about live streaming, you claim to have gain views/subscribers from them but not really since they are only interested in one game not you as a person. It seems like you have no idea that internet bill struggle is real, maybe one day when you have to face real life you can see drastic change in your internet life. 100 subscribers live stream event is over doing it, what are the odds that they will visit you twitch channel if it has little or no editing. You must give a reason to waste thier time on streaming sites because even you are ready to get a whole group in one game thats asking for trouble, its all about being a leader not a gamer.

I would say that Livestreams are very useful. They allow the youtuber to connect to his audience and it allows the audience to talk to the youtuber and have fun with him at the same time.

I would like to ask what country you're from - just to compare how internet bills work out, it's fine if you don't though.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I'm claiming to gain views and subs from streaming. I claimed that it's a celebratory tool, not a tool to gain subs.
The odds they would visit whatever I was streaming are fairly high, as my channel is gaming. They come to see gameplay videos - so see it they will. Honestly, if you've seen my videos, not very much editing goes into my videos. Maybe some cutting out fails here, pasting some captions there, then save and upload.

Honestly, it's not about being a leader, or a gamer.
I can list a few examples here.
Cryoatic, Markiplier, PewDiePie.
What do they all have in common?
Gaming.
Another thing?
They livestream unedited gameplay.

I'm not sure they'd call themselves leaders - they call themselves gamers, for sure.

What I think you're missing here is that my channel IS gaming. My subs come from wanting to see GAMEplay.
Nuttin' but gameplay. (Okay, tutorials here and there, maybe some showcases of mods and such, but still gameplay)

This, too. I was actually about to say it myself xD

What Adog said is the big reason people livestream; to connect with their subs. I mean, if you never connect with your subs, you're going to start looking like a robot to them, who only cares about the subs and views.

for goodness sake i know Adog was you (posting 1 minute after this one come-on), i know spending money like crazy seems like a good idea but in the long run you will regret it. live streaming is not a tool for popularity people said the same thing for youtube and guess what you and me are not popular so it can't be a popular tool. on the topic about your list of celebrities, people respect them has people because they know all about the person. unlike like you who is completely unknown to everyone who can even tell if you are a sexal person or if you killed someone in cold blood (don't say people are good on the internet, i have 100 artiles saying otherwise).

as i said your streaming will do nothing for your channel, everyone is playing the same game, so if you watch the same game then you want to watch someone who does not look desperate for it.

Do me a favor.
Click his channel link, then click mine.

Then say I'm him.
We're friends, yes, but I'm not him.

As per... Everything else in your post, you're still not getting it.

I never said Livestreaming would do anything for me, except allow me to connect with my subs.

Honestly, you're posts are just biased replies, no facts.
Now, I don't mean to offend you, but really, I've said it three times now;
I never said Livestreaming would aid my channel.

Moreover, I never said I'd be spending a ton of money. My internet bill is per-month, not per-usage.

Moreover2.0, everything you're saying, is, indeed, biased opinion. You have one subscriber, so you can't know what Livestreaming does for a channel.
Unless your channel listed is a second channel, I don't see why you're trying to tell me that streaming does nothing for me.

Really, in theory, it should (indirectly, through your subs) help you grow. You livestream, connect with your subs, and then, they like you (or dislike you and leave, but hey, more honest subs) and then spread the word more quality-like, and people check you out more because of how good of feedback your subs give.

Um.... I'm not the same guy. Check our channels I'm a different dude. I just think your points are misinformed. Hundreds of thousands of people LOVE to attend livestreams. With your point about how everyone is playing the same game, wouldn't that apply to normal YouTube videos? A lot of the popular youtubers play the same games and yet people love to watch all of them. Your opinion is fine to yourself, but if you are going to go against Livestreaming, then you are going against hundreds of thousands of people, the YouTube community, and the Twitch community. This in an argument you can't win.

The popularity of Livestreaming is what has made it so great. Whatever you say can't change that. So, I suggest that you either find a really good piece of information telling me that Livestreaming is going down the drain, or just take your individual[DOUBLEPOST=1417647048,1417646985][/DOUBLEPOST]opinion away and just enjoy our conversation. You can talk about this without trying to put us down

whatever guys go waste your time and money its people like you that never achieve anything, the earth will always have that one person that follows borges stuff.
