Livestream to YouTube

I'm not sure if there is already a thread on this, and if there is then sorry
How do you download footage from your Twitch livestream so that you can edit it and post it on YouTube?
I know that you can upload it straight from Twitch to YouTube, but I want to do a reaction compilation, so I want to be able to edit and remove parts where nothing is happening and i'm staring blankly at the screen.

It's a bit more complicated than ya might think! And also depends on which livestreaming software you used.

If you used OBS you just have to find the file since it should save as an MP4. If you used Xsplit you'll have to switch the container on the file from and flv to a mp4.

I made my happy wheels montage out of my livestream of happy wheels :p. So it can be done! I was using xsplit at the time (however I recommend using OBS).

Info we could use.
Your editing software,
Your livestreaming software,
Whether or not you clicked to record locally within your livestream programs settings :p

I edit with camtasia studios right now :/
I livestream with xsplit
I could never get local recording to work, so i did not

Hm, I believe it should have left an FLV file in it's wake though. "Local Recording" is just recording straight to your hard drive and not actually livestreaming. I don't have xsplit on my new computer, but I would google trying to find the location of where xsplit saves it FLV files.[DOUBLEPOST=1370239539,1370239362][/DOUBLEPOST]There is a guy that did an excellent tutorial on it.

You can also go to this website: http:// bashtech.net /twitch/ download.php and login with your twitch account. Then you can download your livestreams in FLV files.
