Live-streaming, not worth?

Hello,
I’ve been looking into live-streaming since I enjoy the interaction (been doing it on twitch), but I am considering streaming on YouTube so I can grow my channel; but before I do that I want to clear up some questions such as:
- Will livestreaming spam subscribers alerts?
- Will streaming negatively impact my channel? Such as reducing it from appearing in search.

What are your thoughts on live streaming on YouTube?

I enjoy watching live streams on youtube and the youtubers I do watch seem to be doing well enough. I think if you enjoy the interaction, you should at least try it. Maybe your subs will enjoy it as well!

I too am thinking of going down this route. I was/am on Twitch but I kind of fell out of the momentum of streaming. Not only was I not consistent on streaming at set times but I found Twitch had me spending more time networking with other streamers just to hopefully get those streamers to come to my channel.

I am curious to know if YT streaming works similar to Twitch. For example, I use SlOBS and the chatbot for SlOBS. Can viewers use some of the chat commands I have in place to either create an on screen action or to post specific info in the chat window?
