Links in the Comments section

I Love YTtalk
So, now that it's been about 1/2 a year, how has the ability to post link in the description affected or benefitted you?

For me, it's excellent! I have a lot of questions that I get over and over and I can just post a link to a video that answers their question instead of having to fully explain it over again. Another benefit, is that viewers have their favorite toy cars and if I have shown it in a video, I can give them the link.

But yes. Spammers do try to post their affiliate and referral links on my 1000+ videos but they often wind up in the spam folder. All in all, it's been an excellent feature for me.

How about you as a viewer or a content creator? Thumbs up or down?

Haven't really used the link feature too much (Though I have been tempted to use it to connect previous videos) but the comment spam folder is my friend :p, have had 2 comments so far that have the beginning as a positive message but the end pretty much a promotion.

Surprisingly I haven't seen much spam with it. Maybe it's because it gets detected as spam haha :P

I haven't personally left many links in comments, though a few people have left them on mine. I have left those up because they actually related to my video, and they aren't in a spammy way. For example @Munchito696 has left a few video link comments on my videos, but they are all related to mine. Like this one on my "Dog in Slow-Mo" video.

As long as it's related, and not spammy, I don't really mind!

I haven't used it but it seems like a great feature, and it's less spammy than I would of thought since any comments with links go straight for review. :D

I have found it useful but only when I needed it, I think I have linked to about 4 videos in total using it which isnt many but its there and nice when I need it. I do see the massive benefits for larger channels having it especially ones with thousands of videos.

I love it for linking to my playlists. I often get a comment from someone saying they enjoyed a particular video and they found it useful for preparing for an exam. So in my reply, I link to a playlist with other videos which will help them for that same exam. This definitely works, because over the next few days, I get comments from them from every single video in that playlist :) And of course, other viewers see the comment and links to the playlist too.

I've had a few problems with people spamming their websites and blogs but I've noticed that YouTube often automatically puts comments with URLs in the "needing approval" tab. If it's spam, I just add part of the URL to my banned words list. It saves so much time babysitting people with multiple accounts trying to spam the same site! They all get automatically flagged regardless of who is writing the comment.

If I have a similar video I'll throw it in their, I also respond to a bunch of videos with other videos I've seen like it that are more extreme or similar. Or I'll throw something like this into the stupid a** rap songs that I hear on the radio that everyone likes
"dude's got nothing on this"
