linking to websites with annotations

So, I just done a p4a video, for tommorow and in the end I put the charities logo. I was planning to put an annotation over it to link to their website but a message box appeared and told me that I can't link across domains, I think I might need to own the site my video links to or something.

I don't have any sub's or anything, I just started, and tbh I'm a bit s**t, so i don't think its a big deal, i just don't know if I can post the link or not on my video.

Anyone know what the rule is, I'm not sure I understand it

No you can't. You can link your own website to your YouTube and annotate to that, but not to 3rd party ones. (With a few exceptions, like Kickstarter.)

Adding to what has been said, you can add websites that you can claim to own in channel settings and they have a method for proof of ownership. Once proof has been given the ability to link to that site will be granted. There are other alternatives but that's what I know

In the end I just decided to link to the oxfam YouTube page so anyone who wants to donate shoutmbe able to do it through there somehow.

Might just pop a link in the description too though, its just that in the video I said the link was there.

Thanks again spu, I haven't got hold of any lamps but u did try siding side ways to the window to fix lighting a little, still pretty woeful though.

Window on one side, mirror on the other can also be a thing. Or something link a white sheet (instead of the mirror), when it's bright enough outside.
