Lighting setup....

Undiscovered....
At the moment I find myself filming during the day where I can, so I have good natural light in my videos. It still isnt ideal but gives me some good video quality.
However, I dont like shooting during the day. I like to spend the day with my kids, and prefer to shoot in the late evenings when they go to bed, when its nice and quiet!

I did purchase a cheap LED video light that I can mount on my DSLR, but it isnt ideal, and eats through batteries sometimes before Ive finished recording! This is it:

Im considering setting up a mini studio in my garage. At the moment I only shoot the product - not myself, but Im considering bringing myself into the video as well so I can do 'proper' reviews and interviews etc.

I have the camera, tripod, and a mic (Canon EOS 70D and a Audio Technica ATR-3350 lapel mic). Im also looking to buy a Rode Videomic Pro as a shotgun mic for when I ever need it. However, I dont have any decent lighting!

I'll need a decent background with stand, as well as 3 point lighting as well - so one behind the background and two at the right angles in front. Is that correct? Or would the 2 front lights suffice?

I dont want to go OTT, but would like some decent quality lights that wont die too quickly! Nothing too large - bear in mind its going into a standard size single garage.
I would prefer energy saver stuff - I like to reduce my energy bills where I can!

What would you recommend?

Are these any good?.....

Well it depends on exactly what you need. 3 Point lighting is almost always the best option, because it creates a good solid lighting setup with little to no unwanted shadows. If the camera is locked on a tripod without motion, two lights will often suffice though. Just as a word to the wise, those lights will run up your electricity bill more than you could imagine. Also, the light bar is not really necessary. It looks professional, but it is no better than putting the lights on a stand, which can often be cheaper. Hope that helps :)

Thanks for your response.
Yes, the camera will almost always be locked in front on a tripod, so no motion etc....... hence maybe I'll be fine with 2 lights, as you suggested - Im just trying to look for energy efficiency as well! lol

The bar I linked to wasnt a light bar, it was to hang a background off of....

Gotcha. I didnt really look at it very long. I just saw a bar and assumed :)

Suggestions on the following setup please:

Or were the lights in the first post better??

Bear in mind Im not after super professional setups here. Its just something I can set up in the garage (where its usually dark) to create video content with good lighting. The camera will be static, on a tripod, facing straight towards me, so I think 2 point lighting would be fine?
I'm pretty confident the above kit would be pretty good, just looking for some advice......
