Hello all. I am getting a Cannon VIXIA HF r40 and I have an issue with lighting. The area where I have issues is where I will be doing most of my videos. They are unboxing videos and I have not made any for this reason. Im looking for a decent light no more than $50. preferably one that you do not mount to a camera.
Thanks for the help.

Construction light. They are in that price range and are very effective. Just be careful cause they get quite hot

Fairly simple, head down to your local hardware shop and buy some cheap lights, if they are very harsh you can bounce the light off the wall to soften it a little

Buy 3 "China balls" at the local hardware store and 3 of the brightest CFL bulbs you can find. Make sure that the bulbs are 5500-6000k in color temp, they might be listed as "daylight" bulbs. Construction lights are too harsh unless they are diffused or bounced off a wall/ceiling. Hang two lights off to the side of the camera and maybe one over it, all out of frame. This should work for unboxings.[DOUBLEPOST=1386731323,1386731164][/DOUBLEPOST]Btw, I am familiar with the camera, lots of my vids are shot with a vixia HF R30

@Mauricio I'm trying to do this in a rather small computer room that gets rather hot fairly fast. I've considered construction lights but I don't think they would quite work with my setup.

@TinHatRanch Thanks! That sounds like a great idea! I'll have to go check it out tomorrow after school.
