Lets Workshop this SEO Together (with images)

Ok so I have what I think is a decent understanding of how SEO works from videos, this forum etc. However I have this nagging feeling I'm missing a few things or making mistakes.
Disclaimer these tags and this video are not close to perfect infact its one of my poorer tagging efforts but hey thats why its a good case study perhaps.

So this is a video I made a little while ago roughly a week. Its got ok views for my channel at 227. 9 likes 0 dislikes and a comment or 2. According to TubeBuddy it ranks nowhere for absolutely all search terms.
Which is a related question. Sometimes TubeBuddy says you rank for only a small amount and just leaves the rest not mentioned. I assume TubeBuddy only tells you if you rank in the top 20 for anything otherwise its left unmentioned?

Anyways lets have a look at a tag...
Searching for Paragon Narbash we have 12k results so not many. The first page are all older videos of 3+ months in age with 5-10k views each. The last video on the front page is from GreyFaux 3 months ago at 716 views.

I don't get if I'm ranking for that exact search term and my video is far far more recent, appropriately tagged and somewhat titled, liked and few hundred views it doesn't outrank/displace a video like the one from GreyFaux or even those with 1000's of views that are now far far older?

I fight this problem too. It's kinda funny, because the older videos in my case (I do tutorials) might also be outdated.

My guess is the videos for others are coming from more popular youtubers. So they might have an older video, but since YouTube knows they get lots of views on other videos, they get better search results. It's self feeding and I'm not sure how to hack it. I figure it will just come with time.

There is very likely more to it than just views and timeline in terms of tag placement. Nobody but YT really knows the exact algorithm for sure but it is extremely likely that watch time and channel authority play some role in it as well as other factors.
