Lets blow up a watermelon. The watermelon challenge!

We decided to take on the watermelon challenge, check out the carnage.

We truly didn't think this was going to work (we almost filmed this inside, thank god we didn't). We used about 400 rubberbands and it took us about 10-15 minutes. It was a lot of fun watching the pressure build up and the uncertantity if it would actually work.
After that blew up, we decided to get a really big explosion by blowing it up with a mortar. Unfortunately, we had a problem getting the fuse to stay lit and when it finally blew up, nothing happened to the watermelon.

I agree..I am always hesitant about my firework videos because a lot of people complain: "that's too dangerous", "these guys are idiots" and stuff like that. But it's one thing that we love to do.
We have been playing with fireworks for a long time and we know how they work, how big the explosions are, when we need to protect our eyes, and when we need to have fire extinguishers on standby.
If you aren't an idiot, fireworks are not that dangerous (famous last words until i lose my hand?)
