Keyboard Noise!

Hi there, I'm pretty new to YTtalk. Just wanted to ask a quick question. When I'm recording my gameplays i get an excessive amount of keyboard noise, probably not helped by me pummeling the keys. Is this a trouble for any of you guys? i have a Blue Snowball, which sits directly in front of my keyboard (only place for it I'm afraid) Is there a workaround that could reduce the noise.

Thanks

Aim it upwards? Otherwise there isn't much you can do. As long as the keyboard sounds don't come over the commentary then it's usually not frowned upon. Bigger YouTubers still alow some keyboard sounds and even controller sounds. s**t I don't even have my mic near the controller and somehow it still picks it up even with low gain. Downside to Blue mics is that they're too good for their own good sometimes xD

Haha, I thought there wasn't much I could do. I may try dampening it, or something along those lines. -_-

Does the yeti mic have openings on the back of the mic? Maybe you can put cloth on it so that it does not record the sounds that come from the back.
Otherwise maybe try a new keyboard or just don't mind it, I've seen many people making good quality video's with keyboard noise.

He's using the snowball but the Yeti has settings to stop it from recording audio from certain directions. Snowball only records in a locked direction.

The best option is to probably move it to the side of the keyboard and aim it at your mouth from there. That's really all I can think of. It's the reason I got a stand for my Yeti, because if it sits on the desk, it picks up too many vibrations. + on the stand I can position it in more flexible ways. Especially if I want to sit further from the screen.

Yeah, it's the vibrations which are the main problem, i thought about one of the arm/stand thingys, but I don't know if they are all universal and have the same fitting.

Yeah, usually they are. But you can consult with the people you buy it from first. The chances are fairly high that all of them are compatible because manufacturers do it to ensure increased purchased of both stands and their microphones. If you get an arm you might need to get that special bracket that sits around the mic and reduces vibrations, because of the microphone arm is connected to the desk, it's likely to pick up those vibrations too, but it would be reduced by the arm. I'd suggest an arm stand if possible but they can get expensive. The sand I've got is just this 1:

The Yeti sits on it's side but I just rotate it the way I want it. I've recently started pointing a little upwards too in cardoid. To help reduce any sounds from the sides and from the controllers. Only downside to this stand is the legs.
