Just Turned Off Monetization on All My Videos...

So I've been doing YouTube consistently for about a year now and I read a thread here that mentioned not monetizing so soon into doing videos would get people to watch content more (because it's easily accessible). I wanted to try this and I'm actually hopeful it will help me get more subscribers much quicker.

Will this make a big difference, you think? I will definitely report back and tell you guys how it's changed my channel!

I feel that it does help, ads are extremely frustrating for me to watch sometimes on a YouTuber that I know nothing about. Usually if I see an ad I'll wait to see if their content is worth it, sometimes ads are put in place due to the music choices which is a bummer, but if I see multiple ads in one 5-10 minute video I'm outta there. I understand people wanting to earn a bit of income on their YouTube videos, but when certain channels include a bunch of ads and pop ups that just seems desperate to me, I just want to watch people have fun.

If your content is good most people will wait 3 seconds to skip an ad. But yeh maybe try it for a month or so and see how you do. I wouldnt do it though.

If you're small and barely have views on your vids, the % of views that get ads shown is minuscule anyway. No real reason to disable it. If anything, the one day you turn them on out of the blue might be jarring for past viewers.

keep it on, I rekon youtube will be more likely to promote videos that earn them money!
maybe you can turn off the unskippable ads though, they are the only ones that get on peoples nerves, the other mini ads are fine and are not in the way of content.
