I disagree. Photoshop is way too powerful to be compared with Gimp. I've used Gimp and it's very impressive. Probably the best alternative for Photoshop on a Mac.That's awesome mate! GIMP can do 99% what photoshop can, i use GIMP myself to make youtube backgrounds and designs for people, so i would be willing to help if you were ever stuck on anything! But very impressive profile pic!
Btw AYRENvids good work! Try playing with the background and add some textures to it.
I wanted to get photoshop at first but then a friend told me that it's way more difficult to learn and doesn't say what each tool does, but expects you to already know that so I went with gimp.

GIMP is good for starting, to get to know the tools, in a year or so i will move on to photoshop, because of my graphic design, but GIMP is easy to pick up, and is the only real "rival" to photoshop.[DOUBLEPOST=1350318976,1350318800][/DOUBLEPOST]

Probably best decision you have made in the longer run till you will be sooner or later able to use Photoshop some Day. Gimp, besides Photoshop, is one of the best tools if it comes to creating cool Thumbnails.
I wouldn`t say that Photoshop is easier/harder to learn. Both tools are pretty much monsters if it comes to their features but I can assure you that you can do with Gimp what you can do with Photoshop too so there is nothing to regret.
