Just dealt with a FALSE COPYRIGHT CLAIM !

TA5

Hit your two hands together for TA5!!!
Gather up around the fire! :twins:

So heres what happened! :ninja2:

Yesterday i put up my latest video..................it had this music in it 'I dunno by Grapes'
It was licensed under the Creative Commons License......:smug:

I decided use the song right away in my video..............

After i uploaded it, i couldn't monetize the video because it matched third party content!!!!:cold:

I clicked the link and it said my video had a had copyrighted music!!!:hot::hot::hot::hot:
It said that the music was Hard Working Man by Magss and Trish(administered by routenotes)

I was totally confused.....

I started research:dance:

I went the real artist Grapes original Youtube Video and saw the comments............:inlove22:

So heres what was really happening...............
People were having the same problem , the thing was, that Maggs and trish had Used Grapes Music and put their vocals on it.......and routenotes had started sending out claims for people using the audio by Grapes :stomp:

It was soooooo wrong :crying:

Many people said routenotes had released the claim when they disputed it.....
so decided to do that

I disputed the claim (scared of getting a copyright strike) yesterday and i received this mail from YouTube just now :D

Hi TopTenStop,

Good news! Your dispute wasn’t reviewed within 30 days, so the copyright claim on your YouTube video has now been released by routenote.

Video title: "Top Ten Dumb Twitter Tweets - TA5 TopTenStop"
- The YouTube Team
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is strange because i disputed it just yesterday

Well........the video is monetized now!! :bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY victory for meeeee!!!!! :woohoo!:

But still......YouTube should have rules against sending out false copyright claims :mad::stomp::stomp:

This is me right now

Damn these stupid Strikes!
I feel for ya,mate...

What is a Rick Roll and SME, BTW?

Hi TA5 I've just received a copyright claim for my trailer in which I use music from incomptech which is all perfectly legit. Routenote is making the claim. I feel more confident now in disputing it. Thanks for posting.

It's not a person. RouteNote is a distribution company serving independent music artists. They also operate a YouTube MCN which in turn claims partner material through ContentID. So if any of their partners uploads content including anything, even transformative material using creative commons assets, it will be autoclaimed. They're well within their rights to do so, as transformative material using Creative Commons content is perfectly legal. The problem is how ContentID is designed to punish first, resolve later.

Sometimes we get the one-hour/30-day response like TA5, sometimes it takes 30 days, and there's one that just sits in limbo and we can't budge. What gets me is how the RouteNotes are parasites
