I've watched a gazillion Algo videos for YouTube and my best videos aren't the best numbers

Like many people here, I've watched tips on beating the algorithms and getting your stuff seen. My videos range from 50 views to .5 million. My latest video "What's the best truck tire, BF Goodrich" has an average view duration of 3:56 and a click through % of 4.4. It's got 717k impressions. On the flip side, I have a video on the largest CBD shop and it's got a click through rate of 6.9, with 6.42 average watch time. But the impressions are only 872. So while I get the channels that say you need to do this and you need to do that, I'm starting to feel it's luck of the draw when it comes to who YouTube wants to promote. You can check out my channel and see where it's failing or working. BTUFF

It sounds like the second video with better stats is about a less popular subject. When people search for it, it gets lots of clicks and good audience retention but not many people are actually searching for it compared to the first video.

Maybe companies buy/run campaign through youtube ads, so their videos get promoted over yours and gets them more views.
