Is Youtube live streaming worth it for someone with only a few subs?

Hi everyone, just thought I would pop in and ask this question as I am really interested in doing it, but only if it is worth it. The main thing I am unclear on is, does the video appear on my channel? I don't really want my few viewers missing out on content that would normally be in a video.

I am a gaming channel so would like some opinions from gamers, but would like to know of anyones experience with it and if you felt it was worth it.
