is thumbnail like this helping or hurting?

I started taking advantage of custom thumbnails as you can see above. its the actual footage only with additional texts to attract viewers.
I have heard that this may be breaking the youtube rule.

Can somebody tell me if this will help or hurt in the future?

Although people wouldn't like it when it comes to putting like half naked women on a thumbnail with a misleading title when the video isn't about women . They'll bring you a lot of dislikes but a lot of views at the same time.

Yes it's true, additional text and such will attract viewers to your videos. Take a look at my video's thumbnails, I've Photoshopped most of them to make it look like something they want to click on and view them

Make the thumbnail more appealing. Right now they are basic. Try to look up tutorials.

The color of the text is really bright, may I suggest a slightly darker color, but one that still pops? ^^

but that's just my personal preference
