Is this a good capture card

I use a Roxio and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you've just started recording gameplay then yeah start off with that because you don't want to buy something expensive and then later realise that you're not cut out for this. If you have a decent amount of subs and views then get something like the Elgato Game Capture HD which is MUCH better but more expensive. Hope this helped :)

I have only got 69 subs atm. I am just starting up and just need something for the time being. So Roxio would do fine for me then right?

If I were you, I would compare the Roxio and the Elgato and see which one my subs would enjoy rather than listening to the opinion of someone else

Hi there, I have experience with both Roxio and Elgato Capture Devices and if you are able to get the money, I would strongly recommend Elgato... Roxio's quality is fine for a YouTube video, although not HD, it is still good quality for the price it is. However, the problems come when installing and setting it up. I found it extremely hard to get the correct wires and wire it up correctly and get the signal to then transfer to my TV seeing as it uses Component Cables. The Elgato on the other hand was much much easier to plug in because it uses its own HDMI cables which come with it, meaning there are considerably less cables and the software for it, worked first time instantly and is very easy to understand. The quality is also much better, but you expect that seeing as it costs more money so based on ease of use Elgato all the way. Here is a quality test we did with the Fifa 13 Demo:

So just to sum up: Elgato has better quality and is more straightforward however Roxio is still a decent alternative and if you think you can set it up fine then it won't be that bad :)
