Is there a need for a second channel, in 2013?

There's going to be the BIG CHANGE by the end of may. The OneChannel focuses much more on playlists than the old channel layout.
If one wants to produce to types of videos (example: Funny sketches and Gaming videos), is there a need to create a second channel for the "auxiliary" videos?

In my opinion, the idea of the OneChannel is meant to abolish the meaning of a second channel for the same person or team of people (One. Channel. Pretty cool, huh?)

So, what do you guys think?

(I apologize if this thread was already made)

If people subscribe to (let's say) sketches, most likely they do not want to watch gaming videos (and vise versa). There has always been the ability to make playlist and even have them on your channel page.

The reason why it's called One Channel is because the branding works on all devices. One branding, One channel.

So yes, I believe if you are going to make different genres of videos, have desperate channels.

Didn't know about the branding part, thanks

What I was saying about the playlist thing was that now, playlists are way more noticeable.

I agree with the fact that people who subscribe to a sketches channel may not like gameplays, I thought about that.

Well if you knew how to add playlist to the homepage of the old layout, it's really not that much more noticeable haha.

Of course you knew how to add playlists! Haha, no I mean for the viewers it's more evident. Ah, I don't know what I'm saying, I'm tired

I post a lot of gaming material, but in the future I do want to vlog or do sketches or produce music. So while I'm working on that sort of thing, I don't wanna be drowning my subscribers in content they don't wanna see, so unfortunately, i don't think second channels will ever become obsolete for that reason :P

I would if making new channels weren't such a B to make :P
