Is the Canon70D worth it? (Have T3i)

The 70D does 60fps at 720p, not full 1080p HD as far as I am aware.

@BecomeAPrime Perhaps you'd be kind enough to check your camera settings and let us know if there is 60fps for just 720p or 1080p as well. You are indeed the best source for information as you have it sitting in front of you!

James.

According to my Mac I can export 1080p60 using 70D footage. So I'm assuming that is a yes. I've had tons of people tell me they can't do it but I don't seem to have a problem with it.

I see what you mean now.

Unfortunately, that's just the render settings. If the actual camera doesn't support 60 FPS, then the video won't be in 60 FPS despite rendering it in 60 FPS.

I can also export my videos in 60 FPS, but since my camera is only 30 FPS, the extra frames/second are not there. There is no difference exporting in 30 FPS and 60 FPS if the footage/camera doesn't support said frames per second.

I'm just about to make the plunge to invest in the 70D to "replace" my T3i.

My T3i has gotten me really far, but I hate how it cuts off filming so frequently and the lack of auto focus while shooting video. This is a huge drawback.

I have been thinking about the 70D for over a year now. Can anyone speak to if they like it (or if you have a video link you want to share shot with it, I would love to see!)

Part of me wants to wait for the next model to come out, but I don't know how much more improvement it will give over this one besides a few basic changes...Canon is really pushing their professional line of $4,000 cameras if you really want all the bells and whistles.

Right now I'm on the 7D Mark II, the 70D does have the advantage of an articulating screen. They'll hold up in my Digital Video Production program at college so they're good cameras that will get the job done. What will you be using it for? Are you just filming blogs or do you photography as well?

Just filming confessional-style footage (sit down) and "glamour shots" of DIYS and product. The latter is what I'm mainly hoping it will help with!
