Is Sony Movie Studio a good cheaper alternative? Or suggest something else.

I use Windows Movie Maker at the moment, and I am not on a very high budget at all, I am still at school. I have tried Lightworks and could not be more annoyed with that product. I was looking at Sony Movie Studio. I don't have the money for Vegas. It is expensive! I need to sort this as I have a semi big project coming up and I need a relatively good software for this. Oh an WMM is making my videos really glitchy and weird. ( I think it is because they are 1080p :S

Can anyone help?

Lightworks is a bit beginner unfriendly, not very codec friendly either. High learning curve but once you've got it down it's really decent.
Sony Movie Studio is pretty good, I've heard of something called Openshot, might want to check it ^^

It was the codec problems I had unfortunately and a few people who are good at that got confused so I gave up, it seemed promising though. I will look it up [DOUBLEPOST=1379176370,1379176158][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh forgot to say I am on Windows

Vegas is cool I recoomend it.

I can recommend Sony Movie Studio platinum 12, I use it and it works great for me.

I use VideoPad. A bit cheaper than Vegas and has lots of good plugins.
