No, they actually work pretty good for me, it doesn't detect much background noise. Can you use them to record? Yes. Will it sound good? Not at all. They will pick up so much background noise it is crazy. You are better off using a potato.
Actually no, I have to disagree with you. I use the same headphones when I record games, and I get barely any background noise. I get more background noise with my Turtle Beach Headset than I do with my Apple headphones. Can you use them to record? Yes. Will it sound good? Not at all. I know you can do it. You need to get your computer to recognize the mic as a mic and not just headphones. You may need a 3rd party program for this. I recorded a vlog using them once and it sounded horrible...No, they actually work pretty good for me, it doesn't detect much background noise.but the question is..... . . HOW???

I have no idea. I'm not even sure you will need one, but I am sure there is probably a great YT tutorial on it somewhereWaht program??
The apple headset uses a 4-pin minijack connector, while the computer only has a 3-pin connector for headset, and another 3-pin for the microphone. You will need to buy a cable/adapter/splitter, that splits these 4 pins into microphone minijack with 3 pins, and headset with 3 pins. Then you connect them in each separate ports on the computer.
Its probbly also possible, though I'm not sure, to get an adapter that lets you put the 4-pin into a USB adapter so that you connect it to the USB port on your computer.
There is NO way to use it as mic/headset without an adapter
