Is it normal to get a copyright strike for just the song?

Just being AWESOME
Last year I received a copyright strike on a own made game video with copyrighted music. It's a shame because it's the only thing that keeps me away from partnership. It really sucks.

You have a partnered channel as far as I can see? Are you sure it was a strike, and not a copyright notice?

My other channel has the copyright strike. Way bigger than my partner channel. I have a couple of good channel it isn't about the views or something, but it doesn't seem right you get a strike for only the song. YouTube can mute, block world wide or even let the people make money with it. I have made a video about the claim

Okay. Well, copyright is serious business on Youtube, as they can get sued for almost anything.
Youtube have people working with it, and whenever they get a notice that a song/picture/video is published illegally(without permission), they get on the case. Different artists have different terms, and some demands youtube to strike every channel that uses their work.

If there was a saying for copyright strikes I'd use it, instead I use this one; Once you go black, you never go back - same with strikes.

The web sheriff can be a b***h :(

But the strangest thing is all the Michael Jackson songs are only blocked in Germany. Only this song gets me a strike. So you say that Different artists have different terms, but it also is per song. Because normally Michael Jackson songs are from another company. This is the first time I heard of Web Sheriff.

No, you see. The song is probably blocked in Germany by default right? So Youtube recognizes it, and then block your video for germans. If however someone who e.g doesn't like you or whatever, they can fill in a form about your video. It will send a request to Youtube, and they will get a proper "mail" instead of a notification they probably get thousands of daily.

Here is the form: youtube/copyright_complaint_form (I can't post links yet. haha)

Ah ok, I still think it sucks for just a song :p Because I did alot of work with the video and it's gone now. I think they just don't like me.
