Is it better to have varying types of videos, or should I stick to one type?

I have recently started a channel for all things nerd culture. I have released a few videos and the first episode of my podcast. Should I stick to just the videos or does the podcast help me branch out?

If you can manage to do both, it's best because you have more oars in the water that way. Podcasts could lure in a different audience than just YouTube alone. People can listen to podcasts while driving and exercising for example.

Whichever type of video appears to be the most successful! Keep in mind that the best thing to do is try a good few types, then pick the one that is most appealing to your current fanbase!

Do both, that way you can target a bigger audience and then once you're a bigger channel then you will develop a niche and pick exactly one kind of video if you want.

If you can do both but don't end up a jack of all trades master of none. It's always better to do one thing really well then over stretch yourself.

Time management is really important here. Maybe stick with one type until you feel like you have that one well developed. You don't want a bunch of low quality videos. If you feel you have the different types mastered, go for it!
Happy youtubing
