Is it an adsense violation to promote your videos?

I saw a post on a youtube adsense forum that to stop promoting your videos on forums and other sites which could gain you junk traffic and potentially become an adsense violation. Also, on another forum such as TubeNation, before promoting your video, it says "Important Information: Please make sure that your submitted videos do not have ads on them, please disable monetization on them. Otherwise, this could result in your adsense or youtube account getting suspended. This is out of our control". May somebody explain it to me, is it a violation to promote your videos on other websites? I just got lifted from my 30 days suspension, I want to be extra cautious with everything now!

THIS on the other hand is against youtube's terms of service, you are using social currency to "buy" views.

youtube has no issue with you promoting your video, youtube has an issue with a site asking you to "buy" views, whether it is with real money or social currency. That site seems to allow "purchasing" ratings as well, all of which are against TOS.

Wow, I honestly did not know about that. I guess I wasn't cautious before promoting my videos. Thanks for your reply!
 
It is not wrong to promote your videos to anywhere but for me it is better to be safe than sorry.
