Is blip.tv worth it?

That's what I thought too, it might help me due to exclusivity.. I have the energy and time so I'll give it a go :)

If that's the game, perhaps you can use Blip to drive traffic to your YT channel. Release a week early on YT and be sure to advertise YT on Blip (via an extra :05/:10 shout out in the Blip edit?). That is, assuming Blip's terms allow such a thing. You could also do the reverse if you wanted to make Blip your main platform.

I was thinking about something similar! Seems like a pretty good idea. I think that's what I'll do! Shout out to YouTube on the blip.tv and ads for the blip on the YouTube, I'm hoping the blip.tv one drives more audience to youtube though.

My opinion: this should be a one way street. Pushing your YT audience to Blip can only strengthen Blip at the cost of YT. People aren't going to watch the same video twice because it's in a different location. Essentially, Blip should serve as an advertising platform to attract a new audience to your YT channel.

You're better off encouraging your YT audience to watch more of your YT videos, rather than telling them to travel elsewhere for the same content. Unless you think slowing down your YT views in exchange for faster growth on Blip will ultimately pay out in time, which I doubt.

That said, if you have a following on other social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) you should be able to excite them into rewatching your old videos as you "premiere" them on Blip. With the right wording, what's old shall be new again. :)

Just my opinions, of course!

Very very good point! I like the idea of premièring things, I'll be writing down some ideas and i'll launch soon. Thanks for the input!

As far as I know, Blip serves it's own ads and doesn't have to give Google the huge split that is typical on YouTube. Let me know if that is true.
