Is anyone's CPM under $1?

I've Got It
Hello, I am not currently under any network, only using adsense. I just started out on Youtube and I guess I am doing okay. I realised I could potential turn this YouTube thing as a part time job as I can rack up more than 40k views a month.

The problem is that my pay is really low. The CPM, or whatever it is, is wayyy below $1, so the earning I have gotten from the 100k views is incredibly incredibly low. Just wondering if there is any way to increase it as I heard that a lot of Youtubers get 6$ per 1000 views or something? Thanks.

I honestly haven't even BEGUN to LOOK at that adsense and all that stuff. I just don't feel like it's the right time to start yet. But that sounds rather low lol.

Yeah it is the lowest I have ever seen. Even people who get 3 thousand views a month could earn more than me. I am not sure if joining a network could increase this though, I dont want to take that risk as of now. Maybe somebody can tell me if it would? Union for gamers seems to have favorable reviews and no lock in.

If I could increase this s****y pay, I could buy the games I always wanted to buy. I don't have a job atm, still in college, and my parents are paying the bills. If I can have a revenue, it would be great!

Adsense doesn't have high CPM. Never had, they also don't have all ad types afaik. I'm getting above 1$ dollar CPM at my network also on the network i own myself.
Damn, maybe i should consider joining a network if it could increase the pay.

You're a long ways away from turning it into a full-time job. I wouldn't discourage you but stay realistic.

Define what you mean by CPM please because typically in these threads, people are talking about different things and we all end up comparing apples with oranges. :)

Reading between the lines, I think you are actually discussing RPM ($$ per total thousand views) ?

I believe the worldwide gross average RPM ($$ per total thousand views) is $2 and a few cents so based on that, $1 or less is significantly below average yes.

The cost of living in my country is incredibly low, escpecially when my parents are paying the bills, I could easily live with 5$ a day. And yeah, I dont expect this ti be a full time thing, just a side income because I do youtube in my spare time[DOUBLEPOST=1415797461,1415797412][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, my RPM think is lower than $1

Your videos are quite short. That's not a bad thing in terms of keeping your audience's attention etc but longer videos are more likely to attract the higher paying ads. Maybe you could add a few longer videos to the mix?
