Is 8 minutes too long???

So Im trying to make a monthly favorites type video and cant seem to get it any shorter then 8 minutes. Do you folks think this is too long or would it be grand at that length??

(Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, am new!)
 
Depends if u r doing let's play videos, it should be longer than 10 mins
If u r doing rants, no longer than 3-4 mins
If u r making short films, 8 -10 mins are fine
 
Well its like my version of a monthly favorites video, Ive been told that they can be a bit longer then the usual kind of videos, but Im really unsure!
 
So like a highlights video, yeah? I would keep it no longer than 6 minutes. If it's gaming highlights, then you can stretch it a little more.
 
Okay, Video length really isnt as important as the actual content in it
If its edited nicely with no pauses or anything and its 8 minutes long dont start chopping up good work just because other people say it might be too long
I just done a Haul that was 7 minutes long and didnt think twice about the timing :P
Some people like long videos, other people like short ones
that goes for gaming and vlogging
sure zoella just done a 19 minute favorites....But then again shes so big she can do whatever te hell she wants :P

Cool channel you have there! Have you checked your audience retention in YouTube analytics? That will give you accurate statistics on whether watchers are staying engaged in your videos. :)
 
If it is gaming you are alright my videos go from 1 minute to 15 minute and they have about the same amount of views it also depends on your audience.
 
So I ended up just going ahead and uploading it, Im not super happy with how it turned out but I want to do my best to keep a routine!
I think maybe I wasnt too clear about what kind of video it was, its basically my opinion on a bunch of products Ive been using or seen over the past month so kind of a haul type thing which from what I can tell seems to do okay when made a bit longer.
My analytics were a bit all over the place to be honest! Ive also recently made a major change to the kind of content I put out so I think that might add to the confusion! :P
