InVideo programming channel avatar

Hey guys I just have a quick question about making an avatar for the InVideo programming section of YouTube. I've seen people with no background on their avatar so its clear, (ex. KGATV). But whenever I make the background invisible it always says that it will make a background when I upload it. I don't understand how to get around this. Any ideas? Thanks
 
I saw a video on this yesterday on the youtube channel 'work with nature'. The video is called 'step by step 2013 one channel banner'. The second half of the video talks about what you want to do with your avatar.

Make sure when you create your avatar, that you save it as a .PNG as this will allow a transparent background. If your on about on YouTube I've never had it say that to me :)
