Indie Beginning... Maybe?

Community, I need your advice!

I've been struggling to come up with a catchy name for my new series on Indie games, and I've finally reached the point where I'm desperate enough to ask for help :)

The new series will focus or relatively new Indie games and cover them in short +-5 minute preview/review video. Some good points, some bad points and some interesting tidbits will be told and shown, but it seems that I cannot satisfy myself with a name for the series. The current working title is:

Indie Beginning...

As in "In the beginning there was nothing, and then god created bla bla bla..."

It's a terrible wordplay, I know, but it's the best I could come up with! Help me out by telling me what you think, or even shooting some ideas of your own :) Your input is greatly appreciated!

Edit: The following image is a still of the intro-animation that precedes the videos, what of it?

would something like indi start not be a bit catchier?
but the idea of indi beginning there was nothing... is a very fun idea for a intro :D

Dunno. So far I like Indie beginning best. And I think it suits the content better than going indie. They are new indie games, indie games that are beginning. Going indie sounds more like it's describing your state. Deep trailer voice: "He's been doing mainstream, but now he's... going indie!" So "Indie beginning" = description of your content; "going indie" = description of you. I'm always in favor of content-driven. But I might want to add, that I like bad puns... (got an entire channel dedicated to those)

I agree. I think Indie Beginning is a winner man. I also think an indie review channel is a great idea. Get on board with some of the very small developers and let them know you're reviewing their games. The easiest way to do so is to Tweet when the video goes up and @indiecompany'sname it. Trust me, they will look at it if they are true indie devs.

I've done this with my live streaming channel and gotten massive shout outs from Kerbal Space Program including an entire day of the devs on skype with me while streaming, talking to and answering questions from my viewerrs. I had about 600 viewers concurrently that day. Almost double my average.

Thus far out of probably, 6 or 7 Indie games I've streamed live, I've had devs in the channel while streaming 4 times. So it does work. They're small and positive publicity is huge for them even if it's only going out to 100 people or so. Some of these games are like 5 to 10 bucks and when you can get 300 people to look at it and help sell 15 or 20 copies, it's a big deal.

I actually like the idea of that voice over! Of course I'm also a big fan of bad puns, so this could go either way :)

You make a good point on the title being content-focussed, but I'm worried that most people won't get the biblical reference. What are your thoughts on that?

That is pretty impressive, and I must say I would like to work together with some of the smaller companies to get their games in front of an audience!

I'll ask you the same question I did JustSomeGermanDude, are you not worried that most people will miss the reference in the title? Except for the "supposedly" funny wordplay the show doesn't have anything to do with the bible or religion, don't you think it would mislead people?

Thank you for your thought, both of you! I really want to do this right and I'm glad I have people to help me around :)

Hey, if they don't get the reference, they can't get confused about a lack of other bible connections. Win win. :D

I think people will get the wordplay on the phrase "in the beginning" if they're gonna connect it to the bible, I don't know, but I don't think they need to. It's still a pun, it still has double meaning, it still works. So I don't think you need the bible themed intro either.

I would probably just make it video game themed, like 8bit /16bit style, since that's still a big trend in the indie game scene. Or, if you're good at making intros and have the time make an intro in the style of the game your reviewing. While keeping the music/sound/voice-over/whatever you choose to use the same for branding.

Dunno, just throwing some thoughts at you...
