Image on Text? [Photoshop]

So I am very very new to photoshop, so I am still learning! I'm curious, is there a way to add an image ontop of text? (Like have the text be written out with the image?)

Hmmmmmm, Try lowering the opacity and then going over the text outline with the pen tool. Im a noob aswell

Yes, make sure there are no color overlays/gradient overlays on the text (or set them to something transparent like overlay or something) then in the layers section make sure your picture is above the text and right click -> 'create clipping mask'

Like font with an image overlaid on top? I would write out the font, alt click, new layer, paste image on top of outline.

You do realize there tutorials out there for photo shop who knows maybe even on the simplest of things i only advise this because people might get annoyed of one of these every couple of days

You are all wrong, you get an image, use the lasso tool and mouse carve out the letters.
