Loving YTtalk
I would love to get some help here. i only have a webcam microphone wich is kinda crappy.

A blue snowball or yeti is good for starters. If you were willing to get something really good though, then I'd look into some professional mics that don't use usb

If you want a mic for gaming and commentating get either the turtle beach x12 great quality for the best value if you want a better quality headset check out the astro website if its just for commentating definitely blue yeti look on amazon for great prices

Thanks for all the help, free feel to come with new one. right now im just looking at everything

Well you gotta remember that when ur using mic's with a huge membrane they also wil pick up background noises like.. Screaming neigbours, Cars driving past your house, Computerfans spinning etc etc
a portable vocal booth is in most of these cases a pre or you need to be able to edit audio properly with out getting clicks if u silence certain area's.

So theres a vieuw things you should look @

1. What kinda video's/audio ya make.
(for example if u make music with a huge membrane mic it's nessecary to have a vocal booth to make sure you dont get any background noise or unwanted effects created by your surroundings"like a reverb")

2.What is my audience.
(If a lot of people are comming to your channel for just watching your games they probably wont pay as much attention to the audio quality of the mic as long it's : informative, entertaing etc etc)

3.What DO YOU WANT

4. how much people need to talk in the mic in the same time.
(mic's have diffrent property in the way the record and from wich direction so if you are with 2 people running a show you should probably go for a mic that's Omni directional or other "figures" that record in more then 1 direction)

so i hope i gave enough information about what you should know about mic's BEFORE you consider on buying a certain mic.

if you can give me this information.
me and other people can have a better picture of the specs needed for your work

I use the Yeti for most of my videos (not the outdoor ones, I use a shotgun mic for that) it's simple to use and very clean sounding. I have a pop filter attached to it and it works very well. It's a little heavy if you are looking for a proper stand or shock mount. It's USB only so you'll have to find an input device that is suitable (with enough power).

If you are recording with a DSLR, I use a Rode VideoMic Pro which has great battery life and great sound.
