If you invented YouTube, what would you have done differently (design, functionality, features etc)

I would of made Layout Changes optional, and you could switch between each of the previous 3 designs. This would stop a lot of people from complaining about changing layouts etc.
The design is brilliant, so there is nothing else I would change except for the Size Limit of Channel Art. 1mb seems a bit low with all the new styles and techniques designers are using. And, I would of made some of the features available once your channel reached certain milestones.

What would you guys do?

I would have YouTube update damn earnings on a daily basis. That is the only thing I do not like about the change so far. Other than that I think YT is doing a good job. Whatever changes they make will never stop me from making videos.

I agree, at first I was a bit tedious towards One Channel.. But, I freaking love it xD But I believe YouTube could put a lot more effort into updating views daily

I would change the channel layouts to something that normal channels could control 50% of the design and partners having 100% control of their channel design.
personalization is very important. Being able to embed tweets, facebook posts, livestream embedding and all that s**t.

I never thought of that, customizable widgets for Facebook, Twitter and all that.

I would try and implement a chat system, I know the comments updates etc, but perhaps an optional streamlined chat on the side. I say this only because i'm not too keen on Facebook, but the chat is handy, and it could provide more interactions with the audience/fans.
But...it could go horribly wrong, so best not lol

Having custom buttons, freely moving around widgets, different pages where you have active series/finished series.
Channel/viewer interaction on a different level, getting notifications everytime someone you subbed uploads something.

I would totally redisign the android youtube app because its $hit, they added the onechannel functionality and they still havn't added liking comments, replying to comments and an inbox -_-
