Ideas for what type of thumbnails I should make for music/cover videos?

I want to start making custom thumbnails, but not sure what to do? I do covers of songs, and read poetry and stuff on my channel, and I can't think of anything other than just the title of whatever song the video contains. Any other ideas on what to do for thumbnails for these types of videos? Because I'm really at a loss as to what to do XD
 
Try and put video of you singing the cover. Sometimes for song covers it gets boring, putting video can make it a bit more entertaining and for different singers maybe they can learn from how you sing. Use Sony Vegas for editing or movie maker. Go through your video and find a perfect thumbnail you would like. Take a picture of it and use photoshop or fotor.com to put words in your picture. I would recommend this, Song name, Artist name(the person who originally sang the song and then Cover by ______(your name). I hope this helps. For titles, keep it very simple, for example,
Rihanna - Work Cover By______(your name)

Could you explain that a bit more? I don't quite get what you mean.
 
Maybe a picture of you with your instrument and the title also in the thumbnail, that´s what a lot of cover artists do on youtube.
