Ideas and suggestions?

Okay so i just started on YouTube and i would like to get some ideas and suggestions! First and foremost: What do you use to record and edit? Also, do you have any suggestions on what to record? It's a gaming channel btw!

First of all, welcome aboard!
It's hard to find channels that REVIEW games, the most of gaming channels do let's plays, you should try the reviews-retrospectives way.

Just because I stream on twitch and record my gameplay at the same time I use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It's free and simple to use. As for editing there are a lot of choices, but I personally prefer cyberlnk. GL on your channel

Don't go based on the equipment i have but i use those old dazzle capture cards, I have a gamecube for Tony Hawks Underground 2 and for editing sony vegas.

My ideas which i think would help boost your channel

• People love seeing high score videos on sports videos like THUG2
• Play old games (Retro) Like games that was legendery on gamecube, PS1-2 etc. Because people are bound to love them.
• don't make videos of a game that came out 1 - 2 months ago because you are not likely to get a place on YT search engines unless you are extremely good at tagging, description and the name.
• trolling videos - people also search things that make them go nuts (2 types: Trolling people in game or watching a video) for example how to basics photo of a nice meal but actually shows him smashing eggs.

A couple more tips:
The name on your youtube video is important as it drives more people to the video so if you can make it as long as possible, descriptions or the second most important so make sure you make the description as long as possible and thirdly tags are the least important as it only helps you with words that aren't in the description and the name and you can go slightly off topic which is why i love tags.

Keyword planner
If you login to adwords and then tools you should find something called keyword planner. You can make a couple of sentences or words to find the ones that get you the most views for that keyword.
