Ideal Time for Intro

I Love YTtalk
I want to make a cool intro to use on new videos, I'm just how long I should make it. Right now it is looking like about 20 seconds with the settings I'm using, but I can probably speed it up. What is your opinion on ideal time?

20 seconds seems really long! The longest ones I've seen that was still cool was 10 seconds and it had a ton of animation and nice music to go along with it.

I don't mind intros on videos I watch, but 3-5 seconds would be ideal for me as a viewer.

Keep in mind, watching it for the first time, it's 20 seconds of brand new content, but after 5 or 10 videos, you are now forced to watch 20 seconds of old content each time.

For an intro I feel like 20 seconds may be a bit long for me. I like to click a video and get to the content fairly quickly. I think 10 seconds or even 5 is ideal.

yeah I was kind of thinking that 20 is WAY too long... I didn't even think of it from the perspective of watching the same long a** intro multiple times. I'm just not sure if I can make 5 seconds work, but I will try! thanks!

I agree, less than 5 seconds is good. It can be longer if the music is really catchy and it has good visuals. The guys on "versus" have a long intro, but it's still interesting and they have long videos, so it works. It should be proportional to the length of the video.

8 seconds at the very most. 3-5 is about right :)
Yeah I'm trying to get a video of a laser engraver engraving my channel name on something.... I think I need to use one of the faster systems because at the highest speed it took 18 seconds today, but this is one of the ancient systems we have. I also need to find a way to get better quality of video because there's kind of a glare... I'll think of something
