I would like to make a cover and a video clip of a popular rock song. Have you any experience in this very matter? Is there going to be any problems with YouTube. As u know creating a proper video clip is quite time and money taking so I don't want to have my channel suspended or smth. So please share your experience with me.

You basically need a license to cover any song. And this would be a streaming license and you can read more about it and obtain any type of licenses to cover songs or distribute them here: http://harryfox.com/public/DigitalLicenseslic.jsp

You can dig into that website and find all the info you need. It kinda sucks i wanted to cover a song and upload on youtube but just couldn't deal with paying $25 for a license
