I Love YTtalk
Hi,

I have a fairly new vlogging channel named SweetieGirlyVlogger and I would love to hear some people's advice on it and what I can do to make the videos/the channel better to get more subs and views. Any opinions are welcome.

Thanks

PS. I have just got a new video camera so I will be starting to use it soon.

Your videos are really stretched
+ Get a better camera.
Just trying to be honest...

I like your videos though :)

How are you stretching it, are you doing it in your editing software or using the ytstretch tag? What camera did you get and what editing software are you using? Some of the best things you can do is improve over time and regularly promote your content and create a brand for yourself using your logo wherever you go online and having a Facebook page, you could promote one of those in our Social Media Pages forum under here:

http://yttalk.com/forums/videos-channels-reviews-milestones.9/

That could help you get a few likes and perhaps a few shares if people enjoy your videos :) Back to your logo it might be a good idea getting it done over a different colour background as over red it is harder to read and it could do with it being brought in a little bit closer, perhaps something like a light pink would be better or white. It would also be good if it matches your channel icon, it will be quite hard having the text so small to be honest so it could best using a picture from one of your videos or something that people can associate with you easily.

I wrote an article on promotion recently which you might find handy:

I use editing software to stretch the video, the one I use is the Camtasia Studio 8 Trial that I re new when it runs out. I have got the vivitar 1080HD Video camera but I have not used it for my vlogs yet. I plan on making a vlog with it tommorrow. Unfortunately I cannot change the background myself as I did not make it, I got a friend to make it for me as I don't really have any artistic skills. Also I have tried posting in the first link but I cannot as I can't post links until I post 15 times. And do you mean a picture of me for the youtube icon? If so do you think my current profile pic on here is suitable?

make your vlogs quick and snappy, cut it to the important parts, don't show completely everything or it will get a bit boring after a while, if you keep it to short, snappy and always on the main event of the day you should have some real snappy entertaining vlogs :)[DOUBLEPOST=1356740397,1356740162][/DOUBLEPOST]

oh by the way your videos are stretched try using a formatting tag (articles on this are available) if you have an hd camera it should sort the black bar problem as the frame size will be bigger

You could try adding the ytstretch tag to one of your other videos which have the black bars and see if there is any improvement, just in the tags section when editing the video just copy and paste yt:stretch=16:9 into the tags and then save, it might not work well but its worth a shot for older already uploaded videos.

I haven't got any experience using Camtasia for rendering normal videos, I tend to only ever use it for screen recordings but I think it would probably be best if you can set your new camera to record in 720p 1280px x 720px and in Camtasia Studio when rendering or exporting choose custom size and put in 1280px x 720px and choose WMV that way the output file size wont be way too large and take so long to upload.

That's right you need 15 to post a link anywhere as an anti spam measure. You could post in the Graphics, Intros and Music forum with a request for a background or in one of the services threads within there, there are many who will make you one for subscribing to them and/or giving them a shoutout which is a fair deal.

Your channel features you and is about you so yeah it will work fine.

I've just tried the stretch thing and unfortunately it didn't work. And I am kinda new to editing so I will try what you just recommended :) I think my camera records in 720p and I think the higher one aswell. I'm sorry I cannot check at the moment as it is downstairs and it is very late over here.

Thats a shame, I would try recording in 720p then and rendering with the settings I mentioned and doing a test upload for a few seconds to see if it fixes the issues :)
