I want to record my PS3!

So I'm a small YouTuber and I know that you have to do many things to get more views. So I want to record Fifa and other games. What should I use?

Avermedia do some products that capture Ps3 at an affordable price, the C281, this does not require a PC. There's the Roxio Game Capture HD but it doesn't do live commentary so you'd have to record it seperately in audacity but I've heard it's fairly good, this requires a PC to record. I just ordered an Elgato Game Capture HD from Ebay as they had it for $179AUD and it usually retails $230-250AUD. Also there's the Hauppauge game captures multiple versions of them but I tried it and I didn't like it. I bought the Hauppauge HD PVR Gamer Edition Plus to record and listen in 5.1 but it only records in 5.1 I have to listen in stereo, which is what my C985 does anyways. Keep in mind, either choice you make you will have to use a component cable. I'd say take a look at either Elgato or Roxio and then as a last resort Avermedia, if you got money t to burn Hauppauge might be good for you, but I have to put the videos through handbrake which reduces quality for me.

If you don't want to use component, you could always find a cheaper capture card that does HDMI and use a HDCP stripper but it's more hassle and can be more expensive if you don't know what you're doing.

Elgato for console. It has the most features.

Another thing: If you just want to record FIFA why don't you record FIFA Online for PC? It's free.

elgato or roxio game capture if you dont have enough cash to splash. you can record live commantary, but not live commantary AND the game sound

Avoid EasyCap and Dazzle, Get an Elgato. Easy Cap can be fake (China) lol Dazzles are not that good of quality, happauge crashes for some people. So get the Elgato

I have actually tried out a few capture devices (Avermedia, Roxio products, etc) and I would say probably the best product for console capturing would have to be the El Gato. It is a little bit pricey but well worth it as far as "ease of use" and video quality is concerned.

I'd go with the Hauppauge HD PVR to record Xbox 360 or PS3, basically any digital source, and an Elgato PVR to record analogue (PS2, Gamecube/Older)
The Hauppauge is quite easy to break though, so you need to be careful, but seeing as it just stands there, its not really a problem. (You can easily place it right under a gamecube for instance)
Basically, just make sure to use the power supply provided, as any other will break it, even with the same specs (I've done this twice)
And to record commentary, use Audacity, and your microphone.
You'll now get two separate audio files that you just need to sync in whatever editing software you use.
