I still don't have custom thumbnails. Will I get them ?

Video manager and by the comments/likes, if there is a green box with a lit up $ in it then it is monetized, if the $ is dark its under review. If there is not a green square click on edit for a video and the right tab will say monetize just click on it.
 
Isnt it meant to be best not to monetise gaming content until youre partnered through a network who has permissions etc?
 
I've monetized videos on my channel and never really had any real problems. Although I havent made an adsense account yet because im to young, so im not sure if that has anything to do with it. If your video is allowed for monetization you can just un monetize it.
 
I would make a vlog video and monetize that. Even if its just one so you can be a partner. Then after that you still need a certain amount of views before you unlock custom thumbnails I have been told. Also you aren't allowed to monetize video game videos. It will just get your adsense banned or even your channel terminated. Only people who are partnered through networks that allow it can make money off of video game let's plays. Even then you can't just have video game footage and get paid for it. You have to have some kind of commentary over the game footage.

hmm no you're not blind perhaps you have to make an adsense or have the account for a certain amount of time. I can't confirm that because I had my account for a year or two before I really began uploading videos so I had the option very soon. When its available you should get a notification on the top of your page that will say you are able to monetize videos just like you will get one that says your account will be able to upload videos longer then 15min.
I would just focus on your content and making sure its top notch until you get these options.

Listen to this man. Yes it is bad to monetize gaming videos until being partnered and it is something I should have mentioned but you can monetize a video and then un-monetize it and you will still have the thumbnails.
