I'm in need of a new computer and am about to get one but I'm lost when it comes to knowing the exact specs for one that will be great for video editing / some gaming! I cannot afford to pay all at once or wait to buy one so I only have the option of paying monthly from Dell. It sucks that Dell is my only option but what are you gonna do? Anyways, can anyone suggest a computer from the Dell website that will help me video edit / game without many problems at all? The computer I have now is outdated and takes +3 hours to even render a 3 minute video.

Please help.

Maybe you could work something out with a company like digital storm? email them and see if they'll rent a computer to you :)

Yea kinda sucks that you can only choose Dell :( But as for specs i'd suggest i5 or i7 2.4-3.1 GHz quad core processor with NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 2GB graphics card and 6-8GB RAM. Those would be pretty great specs but probably $$$. As for hard drive depends on your choice how much space you would need 500GB would be okay. But HDD with 7200 rpm instead of 5400 would be good. It really depends how much you can spend mostly look at processor, graphics card and RAM. I wouldnt choose Dell at all tho.

Question, do you have any kind of budget at all, or do you not mind since you're paying monthly?
As long as I can pay monthly everything should be fine! :)[DOUBLEPOST=1370511848,1370511759][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you! I know a lot about most things EXCEPT graphics cards!

Well, check out CyberpowerPC.com, they do a pay monthly method I'm sure! :)
Also, with Graphics cards, the trick is, the higher the second number, the better the card eg. GTX 670 is better than GT 640 :) Also, for the majority of games, no more than a 2Gb GTX 660 should be needed, but if you have the cash to splash, just go for something like the 2Gb or 4Gb GTX 680, cause that will work perfectly in the future too!
