I have copyright strike #1, What now?

1. Did you intentionally upload copyright material? If so remove the content. Now wait 6 months for it to vanish.
2. Is it a false claim? Appose it, wait 2-3 hours for it to be removed.
3. Switch to Allstate and save over 500 dollars on your car insurance, are you in good hands? (Ignore this one)

You will have to try to make it right by appealing it or just removing it and waiting for it to go away. Youtube offers Creation Tools in your dashboard to free songs and stuff to use to you don't get a copyright strike. Also try using SoundCloud and searching for Royalty Free music and tagging the link in your description letting people know that there is no copyright on the song.

If you uploaded someone else's video or something of that nature, then you will just have to try and wait it out.

If it's false, file a counter-notification, if it's valid wait 6 months or get in touch with the claimant and ask whether they could retract it early. You can find the claimant's email at www.youtube.com/copyright_counter

Moving this to the copyright section of the forum.
