Posting Mad!
Ok, so what I would like to know is a bit about Storyful. We received a message from (Storyful) showing interest in one of our videos. Telling us that they want to use it/feature it 'to increase our views and so on. If anyone could tell me a bit about them and whether or not this would be a good idea, I would really appreciate it.

Also, we were contacted by the YouTube network BroadbandTV showing interest in us joining their network. What I would like to know with this one is would it be a good idea to join their network. Again, if anyone can help me with these two, I would really appreciate it.

Never heard of Storyful but if you retain all rights to your videos and if they don't take any % of your earnings, it sounds like a free promotion kind of thing for you. You could even try to license the video and make more money. You should message them for more information.

As for BroadBandTV, it's just a random network recruiter spam message, don't accept any of those. If you're interested in joining a network, you have to do your research on them first.

I'm reading their FAQ right now, and it sounds like if you sell your video to them that you are essentially giving it to them. I say this because it says:

"Storyful will be the exclusive manager and agent for promoting and monetizing your video. This means that, to avoid any potential conflicts, you agree not to grant anyone else a license to use or sell your video without talking to us first."

This basically sounds like they could say no to you allowing others to use your video and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

This Reddit thread also should help you because it seems to have other people talking about it as well.

Thank you both, I will read a bit more into both of them. I just wanted to get some opinions from some other people because I'm not exactly savvy when it comes to networks and the like. But by the sound of it, neither one is really a good choice. Again, thank you both for your input. I really appreciate it, :).

Did you end up going with them and how was the result?

No, I decided to stay independent for the time. Maybe not the best choice but maybe I'll apply for a network later. I have been contacted by others as well but for now I decided not to join any.
