I don't understand how the get-paid on youtube really work?

Hi, I'm thinking about doing a gaming channel that's about "let's play".

Do I need to wait for an agent who comes across my channel, likes my work, and decides to sponsor my channel in order to get paid then? If so, where do I leave my email so that he can contact me?

Or can I just be on my own and still get paid then? If so, where do I register my credit card/paypal on youtube? What will happen after I click on the monetize button on one of my videos?

Thanks a lot.

You need to sign up to AdSense (just Google it, not allowed to link), which is a service by Google. Once done, you can link your channel to your AdSense account (there are instructions on how to do this when you try to link the accounts in the YouTube panel).

Once you click "monetize", your videos will begin to display ads. Then you'll be paid into your AdSense account and will be able to withdraw it.

When I sign up to AdSense, do I need to use the same email address I use to sign up on youtube?

I also just came across a "beginner adsense guide blog" that says you need a website first in order to apply to adsense? Is it true?

No, you don't need a website and you don't need to use the same email. Go to youtube . com/advanced_settings and click "Link an AdWords account"

This is the big myth amongst newbies - Charliee's right, you don't need a network nor sponsor to make money on YT. ^_^ Good luck.
