I am SO confused, can someone help me understand?

So over the past couple of months, I've been putting in all effort in making videos and kinda just ignored this whole monetisation, AdSense stuff.

My videos are monitised, just today I realised I didn't have an AdSense associated so I filled in the form.

Now what happens?

And what are these "Networks" I'm seeing in this subforum

AdSense basically allows you to collect the income you make from monetization, you do need to be 18 to create an account and you'll receive a code in the mail in order to access and collect your funds.

Networks basically remove AdSense as the middle man, they collect the revenue your channel creates, they take a cut for their work and the services they provide your channel, and the rest of it goes to your PayPal or Bank.

There's plenty of information on YouTube Networks & Adsense, just Google it and you'll find all the information you need.

Thanks! that explains a lot. one more question: do I start getting income AFTER I add AdSense or will I get pay for previously monetised videos?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe previously monetised videos will go towards your next pay.

That's something I would Google.

Here's an unlisted video that explains how the monetization works, or at least a quick explanation with my analytics as an example covering month by month from March of 2013 - November of 2014. It also highlights the date I monetized the channel, 11/13/13, and covers the data for the first year of monetization with a slide show of each month from the beginning until the end of year 1. Not sure if I can post links or not, but hopefully it works.
