How well do you know your subscribers?

Boris Qs

I Love YTtalk
I really know just a few of my subscriber especially those who keep asking questions or leaving comments...I have chatted only with one out of my channel niche spare....I was wondering how well you creators do know your subscribers

I'm the type of YouTuber that loves responding to comments. I'm always constantly checking. So, to me, a lot of my subs feel like family. I can't always know the 100+ people who watch my videos, but I'm getting there. :P

all five of them?
:P
....I have married one,
the other one have born me...
the third is a co-worker in video production
the fourth is a channel I have subscribed, we comment each other from time to time
and the fifth one is an earned subscriber I have never spoke with and I am so proud of his subscription!!
:)

Anyway, if a comment appear, I feel that I do not have to answer if it is a generic "good" or "nice" I just like
as long as some people just try to fish subscribers this way.
But if someone write a sentence or a question I also feel that I have to reply.

To your question:
There is the example of a big channel that never replied me (no name necessary) and...
There is the example of channel "Basic Filmmaker" that replies to everyone,
this was one of the reasons that I am a subscriber to him (starting from commenting I mean)
He currently have replied to (I think) over 13.000 comments in total (site, YT, etc.)
The definition of an 24/7 open channel :)

I know quite a few of them well and talk to some of them outside of my channel, with some of them being from the animation channel and some being from the tech one. I always try to make sure to reply to comments on both channels (or like/love them if I can't really reply).

I have less than 225 subs, but even fewer regular viewers so I'm sad to say I don't really feel I know any. At least not in an individual sense.

I do feel like I'm starting to know how to cater content to them as a whole, though, and my analytics help a lot with that.

I'm going through a major topic change/pivot, though, so I feel like I realistically only have 10-20 subscribers who are engaging in my newer content :(

I have some who've been with me for over 5 years, which is amazing someone would stick around that long and stay in contact. I don't know too much about personal details since I don't infringe but just interacting with my subs and learning more about them is one of the motivating reasons to keep the channel going.

The regulars, I know and talk to. Others, not so much, especially the ones who only show up to complain. :)

My channel went from no subs for a year or so to quick growth after finding an untapped niche. While growth is great, there became a point where I couldn't keep up with the comments.

I either will respond to all comments or only a select few because it feels hopeless to keep up. I dropped YT for 3 years until a week ago which has reintroduced me to my hardcore sub base.

I had forgotten my favorite part of YouTube which is interacting with my subs after a video. Posting again after 3 years has enabled me to respond to every comment and get to know my most loyal of viewers considering I have very little traffic now.

I don't know my subs as well as I should; however, I am doing everything in my power to change that now. Honestly I prefer getting to know a few over scanning the many.
