How to use copyrighted music in my videos?

Hi YouTubers,

I'm no professional youtuber and I definitely dont make money with my videos, so paying to use the sing is not gonna happen. I read in a few places that I could remix the song I wanted to use, but I really dont have the skills. I also read that I could use the song and it would be OK as long as I posted a link to the song on amazon, or itunes or something and gave credit to the singer. If I do tis, does it mean youtube wont take it down or mute the sound of my video? Are there other ways to do this?

Thank you so much! Dani

All you mentioned are myths. You need a written and signed broadcast permission from the copyright holder to be safe. Usually you would contact the record label for it.
Some people will point you to fair use but if the copyright holder does not agree you will have to fight this at court.
There are plenty of resources for royalty free music though.
