Guys, I need help.

I have no idea how to or even if you can use music that is copyrighted.

Would a simple "I do not own this music" work or not?

Please help!

Then what will?
The Copyrights subforum will have a field day with this. :p
Basically you need to purchase the rights. If you are in an MCN that has an audio library you can try contacting them.
And no changing the pitch and tempo of the song doesnt help. Youtube content id is pretty pro at detecting copyrighted stuff.

Would me grabbing a sandwich off your hands and leaving a note ''i do not own this sandwich'' be good enough? lol You can't just take someones music you don't own you'll get a 3rd party claim and probably get a strike on your account. You need a permission. Where do you get the permission? From who owns the song and they'll either not let you use it or ask to buy a streaming licence which costs money.

i'm just curious...why?

The only option is to get permission but again....why? what does copyrighted music have to do with your content?

Well, in my video, I had a moment where in my head I thought of the perfect song for the moment in the video, it was a very popular song that I had recently heard. It really is not a big part of my video, but my video would be better with it in it.

Use an cover song, speed it up, change the pitch. THEN BOOM! You've done it.

I recommend maybe getting permission from the person covering it though... that'd be cool.
