How does one trend and why do you want to trend?
Answering the second question first - you might want to trend to get on the youtube trends page its probably one of the most legitimate pages left because it does not take view count as the largest measuring stick.
which leads to the second question which was first "how do you trend"?
A video trends not because its good or has uber quality. It trends from the following combinations
1) lots of comments
2) lots of likes and/or dislikes
viewcount does not matter
I just picked this video off the front page (of course in 24 hours or less the example will be obsolete but anyhow its on the trending page on top)
The guys channel is very old and he has like 25 subs his views were likely acccumulated slowly over time. His video trended because it has 30+ likes a few dislikes and a lot of comments!
