How to start earning money?

Today I wanted to sign in to Adsense, but it directs me to blogger. I have a blog there, but on a different google account than my Youtube channel. Is that an obstacle?>

And more general question? How to start earning money on youtube (ad-wise)?

If you truly want to make money, adsense is not the way to do it. Think of adsense as a tip jar, you get a few quarters here and there and every once in a while you'll get something decent.
The best way to make money is to first build up your subscribers, then find something that you can sell them (that's not a dumb tshirt, but something that they can actually use).
If you have great content but no subs (and it's not a vlog), then submit all your videos to places where people can buy your raw footage.
You can also make money by getting tv shows to air your footage (don't go through a company, just contact the show and send them the footage..or like in my case they usually email me first).
There is also product placements that you can get paid to do (checkout famebit for that), but i absolutely hate product placements. It's bad enough that your viewers have to watch ads on yt, don't make them listen to you talk about how great rich chocolatey ovaltine is (now available in slamming strawberry that is rich in vitamins) <<<see what i mean.
Lastly there is video competitions everywhere, find one that is asking for a video that you have already shot/filmed/edited and submit. It's always a long shot, but eventually you will get one that pays off.

then find something that you can sell them (that's not a dumb tshirt, but something that they can actually use).
People are making fortune by selling t-shirts, hats, hoodies and similar accessories, yet you say it's dumb? Maybe for your channel it is dumb, but don't put everyone in the same basket.

I am sorry i didn't mean it is dumb (i am going to start selling tshirts soon as well). I meant it is dumb for new youtubers. It is incredibly difficult to sell shirts and even harder if you don't have the views/subs so that you are able to get bulk orders. Selling stuff is the only way we survive and continue to make new videos, but timing is key

Could you elaborate more on this or tell us where to find out more? I can't say I have great footage, but with all the dogs that come through the shelter doors, I could probably get footage if someone tells me what they want.

There are a ton of places you can sell your photos/videos. Usually how it works is everytime someone pays to download your video you get some money.
Say someone is making a video for work or even a youtube video and they need a video of a dog fetching a stick. They go to that website and search "dog fetching a stick" and then they scroll through the videos, pick the one they want and pay for the download. If it's your video, then you get a cut of the download money.
I can't say a whole lot about it because i don't do it, but one of my friends has a drone and he posts all his landscape videos there (and makes some good money..not retire money, but enough to keep his drone hobby going)
